Get a one of a kind and unique portrait of you own pet! All pet portraits are created using Encaustic Wax as the primary medium with an image transfer of your pet and are created on wood panels. Portraits are finished with wax carving, added colored pigments from oil sticks, oil pastels, metallic powdered pigments, alcohol inks, and numerous other mediums and techniques to make your portrait stand out! Each piece is topped off with an Acrylic Varnish to emphasize detail in texture and colors, as well to protect and preserve the finished product.
Currently, we have three size and price options...8x8 for $150, 10x10 for $200, and 12x12 for $250. However if you have a particular size in mind we can always discuss and price accordingly. Keep in mind that the wood panels needed for these projects only come in certain sizes, so wood panels may need to be special made to accommodate your requested size.
Once contacting me to commission a pet portrait, I request a 50% down payment of your project fee. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of the commission. I will need 3-5 high-resolution digital images of your pet and I will pick one of these images for your pet portrait. The reason I ask for numerous images is due to the fact that not all photos will work well for this process. Some will work better than others, so its best to have multiple images to choose from. We will then discuss what color schemes you would like...or if you wish, you can choose from one of my previously completed portraits as an example of what style you would like yours completed. I will design a digital proof to give you an idea of the concept I have in mind for your particular portrait. We will discuss any changes that need to be made and adjust accordingly. I will then start work on your piece. Completion turnaround for your pet portrait will be around 2 weeks. Each pet portrait is finished with Gloss Acrylic Varnish and side panels are painted black.
